The Role of Mass Communication in World Evangelization for the Next Decade

Four national and international evangelical leaders will discuss the role mass communication, particularly print and digital, should be playing as evangelicals continue to pursue the fulfillment of the Great Commission. How have we been doing and, in the near term, what should be our focus and strategy as Christian communicators?

Mark Galli (moderator)
Mark has been part of the editorial staff at Christianity Today since 1989 serving as an editor for both Christian History and Leadership and as Senior Managing editor for Christianity Today. In 2012 he was named editor of Christianity Today. Early in his career, Mark was a pastor for ten years in Sacramento and Mexico City.
Steve Douglass
Steve Douglass is president of both Campus Crusade for Christ International and Cru, as the ministry is known in the United States. Through more than 45 years of service, he has held a variety of positions, including vice president and administration director of U.S. ministries. In July 2001, Steve took over as the president of Campus Crusade for Christ International from founder Bill Bright. Steve is the author or co-author of several books, including Managing Yourself, How to Achieve Your Potential and Enjoy Life and Enjoying Your Walk with God. His radio program, Making Your Life Count, airs daily on 900 stations.
Gabriel Salguerro
Rev. Salguero is the senior associate pastor of Calvario City Church in Orlando. He is also the founder of the National Latino Evangelical Coalition (NaLEC), representing 8 million Latino evangelicals in the United States. He and his wife Jeanette have ministered extensively in Europe, Latin America, and Africa. He has written extensively on ethics and race, multicultural ministry, immigration, and spirituality and public work. He is a featured writer for “On Faith,” and the Huffington Post’s religion page. He has served as an adviser to the White House on issues of immigration and health-care and the faith community. Gabriel is a board member of the National Association of Evangelicals (NAE).
Delanyo (Dela) Adadevoh
Delah became a Campus Crusade for Christ staff member in 1980 as a trainer of new staff members in Jos, Nigeria. Since then Dela has served in many capacities, including national director of his home country of Ghana, director of affairs for Southern and Eastern Africa, international director for leadership development and vice president for Africa, the Middle East and Central Asian Republics. Dela currently serves as Campus Crusade’s Vice President for Area Team Leaders. In this capacity, Dela works with the leaders of the organization’s 12 global leadership teams to accomplish our mutual calling to help fulfill the Great Commission. Dela has authored several books, including Leading Transformation in Africa, Revival and Spiritual Awakening, Approaches to Christianization in Africa and Religion and Government in Africa.
Sexual Harassment: Defining and Responding as Christians and Journalists

Forum speakers will look at the ways evangelicals have responded to sexual harassment, report on what the research tells us about best practices, and provide guidelines for journalists and ministry workers about how to report and respond.

Dr. Sandra Glahn (moderator)
A longtime EPA member, Sandra teaches journalists in the Media Arts and Worship department at Dallas Theological Seminary (DTS). Among the more than twenty books she has authored or coauthored are several relating to Christianity and sexuality. Most recently she served as general editor for Vindicating the Vixens: Revisiting Sexualized, Vilified and Marginalized Women of the Bible (Kregel Academic).
Dr. Mimi Haddad
President of Christians for Biblical Equality (CBE) International. She received her master’s from Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary and her PhD in historical theology from the University of Durham, England. Haddad is co-author of Is Gender Equality a Biblical Ideal? and she has contributed to twelve books. An adjunct professor at Fuller Theological Seminary and Olivet University Zinzendorf School of Doctoral Studies, she currently serves as a gender consultant for World Vision International and Beyond Borders.
Eugene Hung
Received his ThM from DTS in 2000. He serves as the interim violence prevention coordinator for the University of California Irvine’s Campus Assault Resources and Education (CARE). A freelance writer, he is a regular contributor to HuffPost and has written for the EPA publication Sojourners.
Kate Shellnutt
Christianity Today’s associate editor, reports on breaking news and trends in evangelicalism. Her favorite topics to cover include women, friendship, reality TV, and pop culture. Her work has earned honors from the Society for Features Journalism and Religion News Association.
